The largest research project in the Czech Republic is the ELI Beamlines science center focused on laser technology. It is located in Dolní Břežany and was completely put into operation in 2018. This year, the areas, which originally served a different purpose, were converted into offices - and we were part of this reconstruction.

Surface preparation

Precisely because it was a reconstruction, before the installation it was necessary to carry out preparatory work, which is not required for the new building - dismantle the original flooring, repair the entire substrate, paint it with penetration and level with a self-leveling trowel.

A total of 210 square meters of Artigo rubber flooring was chosen as the most suitable floor for the renovated interiors. Specifically, it is Nd/Uni with a PRO surface treatment, which significantly reduces maintenance costs in the long run. In addition, rubber is known for its good acoustic insulation properties and its flexibility pays off especially during long-term movement on these floors.

An important factor in the decision was also the fact that Artigo rubber floors are made of health-friendly and environmentally friendly materials.

Snow-white rubber

The investor was not afraid of light shades and in the end he chose color Ice from all 30 colors available in this design. In this way, the offices gained in airiness and the colorful interior accessories gained prominence.

Sisal rug

A round Zambesi sisal rug with a diameter of 320 cm with stitching along the edge was custom-made for the area under the meeting table. With a resistance class of 32, it can withstand office operation without any problems, and the dark pattern stands out beautifully in the bright interior. In addition, the structure of the larger, flat-woven loops on the smooth white floor creates a pleasant contrast.
