Entrance areas have the greatest influence on the first impression of every visitor, and therefore we should not underestimate this part of the interior. Useful properties are the main reason for choosing cleaning mats for specific rooms, but design is also important in this context.

For more demanding customers, we can also produce mats with a custom design, where it is possible to have a logo or any other motif etched in it.

History of cleaning mats

According to surviving records, the first cleaning mats were made from coconut fibre, grass and similar commonly available natural materials – reeds, hemp or jute. The time for their weaving into stronger units, cutting to various sizes and alternating patterns and materials came with the invention of looms. After the discovery of synthetics, these natural materials were somewhat eclipsed, yet coconut, for example, was able to prevail amongst competition from polyamide fibres and other artificial materials.

Function of cleaning mats

They capture dirt

Because the cleaning mats are basically made of highly resistant materials woven into strong loops (or fibres firmly fixed to the substrate), the trapped dirt remains on the surface, does not fall anywhere and can be easily vacuumed.

Noise absorbent

Quality cleaning mats must have a stable base, so thanks to this layer, they can also provide an acoustic benefit – they dampen impact noise in a fundamental way.

Reduction of floor maintenance costs

Cleaning mats can significantly reduce the cost of the cleaning and maintenance of floor coverings. If we devote the necessary time to choosing a sufficiently high-quality and dimensionally suitable mat or zone, we can be sure that the amount of dirt brought into the interior (or actually directly onto the floor covering) will be significantly reduced.

Prolonged flooring service life

By preventing dirt from being regularly clogged on the floor covering inside and absorbing any moisture, the cleaning mats also prolong its service life.

Cleaning mat as a carpet

Mat can also be used as a functional floor covering, which can sometimes replace a carpet. A good example is the installation of cleaning mat rolls in an apartment in the mountains, where guests walk through the entrance hall and further up the stairs on the mat, which guarantees a much better cleaning of the soles than with just a classic mat placed behind the door.

This also results in a longer lifespan of the floors in other areas of the apartment.

Natural or synthetic mats?

Natural mats are primarily made of coconut. They are robust, with high cleaning ability and are not only produced in natural colours, but also in other shades. However, they can only be installed indoors where they are not exposed to the weather. Mats made of synthetic materials (mostly polyamide, polypropylene or nylon), on the other hand, are also suitable for exteriors, they are not bothered by rain or other vagaries of the weather.

Cleaning mats for inside and out

Outdoor or exterior mats have the task of capturing most of the dirt. They therefore have a different surface than interior mats. It is usually already assumed that they function as second in order and their structure is adapted to this.

Mat – a space for your creativity

We will playfully ensure that your cleaning mats are not just a dull piece of textile on the floor. For example, we can print them or cut out a company logo or other motif into them, which is then inserted in a different colour. This will make your brand really stand out.

We can also produce shapes other than classic rectangles and we will advise you on the ideal size of the cleaning mats so that they work as efficiently as possible.
